Tissot Named As Official TimeKeeper for International Sporting Events

Swatch group brand Tissot continues to make a name for itself in the world of sports. Last week Tissot announced that it would assume the role as Official TimeKeeper of the Rugby World Cup 2015. The event which started on September 18th is expected to be the highest viewed championship in the sport’s history. Championship matches will take place on November 1 in England. While this event may not get as much media attention here in the US, this bold move from Tissot adds to the long list of international sporting events which Tissot calls its own.

Embodying the rugged spirit and dynamism of rugby players, the Tissot T-Touch Expert Solar is the featured timepiece of the games. For those unfamiliar with Tissot and the T-Touch Solar, I highly suggest that you read one of my earliest reviews of the watch http://www.ivytimewatches.com/affordable-watch-reviews/.

In addition to Tissot’s partnership with World Rugby, Tissot maintains its ties with UCI (Union Cycliste Internationale). Tissot is the Official TimeKeeper of the UCI Road World Championships which runs from September 19- September 27, yes that means the event has started already! Tissot has a rich history in the sport of cycling and has annually held the position of “Official TimeKeeper” for UCI World Championships going back more than a quarter century. At the event Tissot will have a special booth at FanFest (September 25-27) which will feature an assortment of Tissot’s best-selling collections. Lastly, fans have the opportunity to win a T-Touch Race watch if they set the fastest lap time on an indoor bicycle!

Events like these are Tissot’s bread and butter. Over the past few years while many Swiss watch brands have distanced themselves from their captivate audience, (mainly because of marketing budget cuts) Tissot remains a visible name. Best of luck to all of the competitors in these two events! Stay tuned for more news around the industry.
