Baselworld 2015

Wow! The watch world has been on fire for the past few days. A myriad of new products from  Tudor, Nomos, Tag Heuer and Rolex have sent journalists into a frenzy at Baselworld 2015.

I am late to the party but with Baselworld ending on Thursday, there are a number of surprises that we have yet to see. As far as watches go, this is the pinnacle event of the year. Brands ranging from entry-level to ultra-luxury put a massive amount of resources into making Baselworld possible. The history and importance of this event are without question.

Baselworld is the longest running premier watch and jewelry event in the industry. First held in 1917, the event was the primary means of showcasing premier European watches and jewelry. It would take more than fifty years for the event to include non-European exhibitors. In the present, Baselworld attracts 4000 journalists from over 70 countries with nearly 150,000 expected guests.
